Prof. Torsten Zuberbier is a specialist in dermatology and allergology. He is Director of the Institute of Allergology at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and speaker of the Comprehensive Allergy Center Charité as well as Co-Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP for Allergology and Immunology.
He is the Chairman of the ECARF (European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation), the President of the GA²LEN (Global Allergy and Asthma European Network), and the President of the German Academy for Allergology and Environmental Medicine (DAAU). His research is focussed on inflammatory diseases of the skin, including urticaria, mastocytosis, atopic dermatitis and mast cell biology. He aims to increase translation of clinical research to help implement new scientific knowledge that can improve diagnosis and treatment of new patients.
