Dr. Ashraf Badawi is currently an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt and a visiting Professor of Dermatology at Szeged University, Hungary. Dr Badawi has graduated from the Faculty of Medicine Cairo University, Egypt in 1992. In 1997, he obtained the MSc degree in Dermatology and Venereology followed by a Diploma in the Laser Applications in Biology and Medicine in 1998 from Cairo University too. In 2001, Dr. Badawi obtained a Diploma in General Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. In 2007, Dr. Badawi received a PhD degree in Laser Applications in Dermatology from the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt. In 2011, Dr. Badawi obtained a second PhD in Clinical Medical Sciences from Szeged University, Hungary.

During his career path, Dr. Badawi has actively participated in more than 200 International Dermatology conferences with lectures and workshops. Within the past 20 years He was directly involved in training of more than 2500 Dermatologists all over the world for Laser Applications in Dermatology.

Dr. Badawi has several international publications in the field of Cosmetic Dermatology and laser applications in Dermatology and is the Vice President of the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology (ESCAD), the Vice President of the European Society of Laser and energy based Devices (ESLD), a Member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (EADV), an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), a Fellow of the American Society for Laser in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), a Member of the Scientific Committee of the World Congress and Antiaging Medicine and MediSpa and a Director of The Middle East Master Course at IMCAS Paris, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 meetings.

Bengu Nisa Akay

Dr. Bengu is a Professor of Dermatology since February 2017 at Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dermatology. She is one of the board members of International Dermoscopy Society representing Turkey.

Dr. Akay’s main interest is dermatoscopy and diagnosis and managements of skin cancers. She made more than 75 publications listed on ISI Web of Science and SCI or SCI-exp indexes. Her H index is 13 and RG score is 30.76.

Cliff Rosendahl

Prof. Cliff is an associate professor and comes from a background of primary care and forensic medicine, with PhD studies and further research focused on the early diagnosis of skin malignancy through dermatoscopy. Ongoing collaboration with colleagues in Vienna has moved into the application of artificial intelligence to dermatoscopic evaluation. He is a course coordinator for the UQ Skin Cancer Program.

Henry Francois Jordaan

Lecture: Paediatric Cases from the Clinic

Prof H Francois Jordaan qualified as a medical doctor in 1972 (MBCHB/US) as a dermatologist in 1982 (MMED/US) and has followed an academic career since. He was associate professor, principal specialist and head of the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Stellenbosch and Tgerberg Hospital South Africa from 2003-2013.

He is a honorary consultant at the Department of Anatomical Pathology at the same institution. Prof Jordaan acts as dermatopathology consultant for private pathology practices in the Western Cape and as a clinical consultant for the Tygervalley Skin and Laser Centre. He was actively involved in the teaching of skin signs of HIV/AIDS in the Eastern Cape and to caregivers from other African countries.

He is member of the EXCO of the Dermatological Society of South Africa, an honorary member of the Indian Society of Dermatopathology and full member of the South African Academy for Science and Arts. He is also an honorary member of the Dermatological Surgical Society of South Africa. Prof Jordaan regularly conducts clinicopathological seminars at other teaching centres in SA. He is involved in teaching of pregraduate and postgraduate students on a daily basis. He regularly invigilates in the part 1 and 2 examinations for registrars in dermatology.

He published 54 manuscripts in peer review journals, numerous papers in non-peer review journals ( eg Diseases Of The Skin, SA Derm Review, JACI ) and presented papers and posters at national ( more than 40 ) and international congresses. His main interests are dermatopathology, skin signs of systemic disease, skin signs of HIV/AIDS, cutaneous tuberculosis and pediatric dermatology.

Prof Jordaan retired in 2013 on reaching the age of 65. He was appointed on a sessional basis ( 2 X 4 hours per week ) by the US and PAWC from 2014. Prof Jordaan is still actively involved in all aspects of dermatology-teaching, service, administration, research and outreach.
In August 2016 The Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Dermatology was awarded to Prof Jordaan.

Dr. Sara Edward is a Consultant in Dermatopathology and Soft Tissue tumours at St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds United Kingdom. She works in one of the largest Histopathology Departments in the UK and is a core member of the Skin cancer multidisciplinary teams and Sarcoma multidisciplinary team. Her area of interest also involves Inflammatory Dermatopathology which involves regular discussions with the dermatologists in the region and also nationally.

Dr. Edward is an educator at heart and has founded and organises two courses in Leeds. The Leeds Update is an international course and has been successfully conducted and is in its 8th year now. Dr. Edward is the co- author of Essential Dermatopathology and has contributed to Atlas of Indian Association of Dermatologists and Venerologists.
She is the incoming Secretary of the British Society of Dermatopathology and is a member of Speciality Advisory Committee in Dermatopathology of the Royal College of Pathologists.

Professor Wojciech Baran is a dermatologist-venereologist with specific interest in pediatric dermatology. He is the head of Pediatric Dermatology Unit in the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology in Wroclaw, Poland.

Professor Wojciech is an author and co-author of 128 papers, 83 presentations on international congresses, 20 chapters and 2 books. He had visited many dermatological departments in Europe e.g. Munich, Kiel, Bochum, Aachen, Dortmund and received one-year Otto-Braun-Falco Scholarship Grant for his stay in Dresden. His scientific work is focused on the immunological background of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis and lately metabolomics in skin diseases. Clinical field of interest is pediatric dermatology, with its specific diseases as atopic dermatitis, morphea, alopecia, vitiligo and childhood psoriasis. The second field is modern treatment of skin diseases – he conducted many II, III phase clinical trials in adults and children. He is also an experienced lecturer delivering his talks mainly to dermatologists, pediatricians and general practitioners.

Subsequently Dr. Al-Fardan returned to UAE and was assigned as Assistant Professor in UAE University, department of Surgery and plastic surgery consultant at Tawam Hospital, Al-Ain.
