Dr. Ashraf Badawi is currently an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt and a visiting Professor of Dermatology at Szeged University, Hungary. Dr Badawi has graduated from the Faculty of Medicine Cairo University, Egypt in 1992. In 1997, he obtained the MSc degree in Dermatology and Venereology followed by a Diploma in the Laser Applications in Biology and Medicine in 1998 from Cairo University too. In 2001, Dr. Badawi obtained a Diploma in General Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. In 2007, Dr. Badawi received a PhD degree in Laser Applications in Dermatology from the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt. In 2011, Dr. Badawi obtained a second PhD in Clinical Medical Sciences from Szeged University, Hungary.

During his career path, Dr. Badawi has actively participated in more than 200 International Dermatology conferences with lectures and workshops. Within the past 20 years He was directly involved in training of more than 2500 Dermatologists all over the world for Laser Applications in Dermatology.

Dr. Badawi has several international publications in the field of Cosmetic Dermatology and laser applications in Dermatology and is the Vice President of the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology (ESCAD), the Vice President of the European Society of Laser and energy based Devices (ESLD), a Member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (EADV), an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), a Fellow of the American Society for Laser in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), a Member of the Scientific Committee of the World Congress and Antiaging Medicine and MediSpa and a Director of The Middle East Master Course at IMCAS Paris, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 meetings.

Diamant Thaçi

Professor Dr Diamant Thaçi graduated in 1989 with a medical degree and specialized in dermatology and venereology 1995 at the Department of Dermatology and Venerology at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr Thaçi has held the roles of Senior Consulting Specialist in Dermatology, Director of Clinical Research, Head of Photodermatology division from 1997-2011. In 2011 he was appointed as Associate Professor of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main Germany. Since 2013 he is a director and full university professor at the Institute and Comprehensive Center Inflammation Medicine University of Lübeck, Germany. He is chairman of inflammatory board at the university hospital Schleswig-Holstein campus Luebeck.

Dr Thaçi’s research experience covers immunological work in basic research and as well, all stages of clinical drug development especially in chronic inflammatory skin diseases like psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa etc.. Dr Thaçi has been a recipient of the Theodor-Stern Foundation Award in for excellent clinical research. He has been involved in numerous investigator-driven trials, and acted as main investigator on large numbers of national and international multicentre trials.

In addition to his clinical commitments, Dr Thaçi also lectures on dermatology, cross section immunology/microbiology and publishing numerous articles in high reputation journals like New England Journal of Medicine or Lancet. Editor, co-editor, member of editorial board for several scientific journals and serves as a scientific reviewer of dermatological but also general medicine journals. He is member of steering committee at the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), International Psoriasis Council (IPC), International Eczema council (IEC), and SPIN – Skin Inflammation & Psoriasis International Network (SPIN).

Henry Francois Jordaan

Prof H Francois Jordaan qualified as a medical doctor in 1972 (MBCHB/US) as a dermatologist in 1982 (MMED/US) and has followed an academic career since. He was associate professor, principal specialist and head of the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Stellenbosch and Tgerberg Hospital South Africa from 2003-2013.

He is a honorary consultant at the Department of Anatomical Pathology at the same institution. Prof Jordaan acts as dermatopathology consultant for private pathology practices in the Western Cape and as a clinical consultant for the Tygervalley Skin and Laser Centre. He was actively involved in the teaching of skin signs of HIV/AIDS in the Eastern Cape and to caregivers from other African countries.

He is member of the EXCO of the Dermatological Society of South Africa, an honorary member of the Indian Society of Dermatopathology and full member of the South African Academy for Science and Arts. He is also an honorary member of the Dermatological Surgical Society of South Africa. Prof Jordaan regularly conducts clinicopathological seminars at other teaching centres in SA. He is involved in teaching of pregraduate and postgraduate students on a daily basis. He regularly invigilates in the part 1 and 2 examinations for registrars in dermatology.

He published 54 manuscripts in peer review journals, numerous papers in non-peer review journals ( eg Diseases Of The Skin, SA Derm Review, JACI ) and presented papers and posters at national ( more than 40 ) and international congresses. His main interests are dermatopathology, skin signs of systemic disease, skin signs of HIV/AIDS, cutaneous tuberculosis and pediatric dermatology.

Prof Jordaan retired in 2013 on reaching the age of 65. He was appointed on a sessional basis ( 2 X 4 hours per week ) by the US and PAWC from 2014. Prof Jordaan is still actively involved in all aspects of dermatology-teaching, service, administration, research and outreach.
In August 2016 The Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Dermatology was awarded to Prof Jordaan.

Dr. Al-Fardan is an Assistant Professor in UAE University, department of Surgery, and Plastic surgery consultant with admitting and operating privileges at Tawam Hospital, Al-Ain. As well as Plastic Surgeon at Eternal Clinic with admitting and operating privileges at MEDCARE Hospital in Dubai He is a fellow of the Canadian Royal College of Surgeons and a member of Canadian Plastic Surgery society and Emirates Medical Association.

Dr. Al-Fardan started Plastic Surgery residency program at University of Toronto, Canada in 2002 to 2007. After the residency he obtained the Canadian Board and completed fellowship in Breast reconstruction at Woman College hospital, Toronto, Canada. Subsequently Dr. Al-Fardan returned to UAE and was assigned as Assistant Professor in UAE University, department of Surgery and plastic surgery consultant at Tawam Hospital, Al-Ain.
