Dr. Qureshi is the Warren Alpert Foundation Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology at the Warren Alpert Medical School, Brown University, Dermatologist-in-Chief at Rhode Island Hospital, Rhode Island, Section Chief of Dermatology at Providence Veterans Affairs, and on the Board of Directors for Brown Physicians, Inc., a Brown University affiliated faculty practice plan. He is also Professor of Epidemiology at the Brown School of Public Health. He has received numerous awards, among them: Young Leadership Award from American Dermatological Association, several mentorship awards from the Medical Dermatology Society, and the Outstanding Service Award and Diversity Mentorship Award from the American Academy of Dermatology.
He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the Society of Epidemiology Research, the American Dermato-Epidemiology Network, the American Association for Cancer Research, and the North American Rheumatic Dermatologists.
Dr. Qureshi’s has spent almost the last two decades working closely with rheumatologists, gastroenterologists, ophthalmologists, and pulmonologists caring for patients with multisystem autoimmune diseases. He is especially interested in reducing variation in clinical care and leading process improvements in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. His major efforts are in the clinical and molecular epidemiology of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. His research interests are translational, bridging epidemiology and outcomes research with genomics to answer important diagnostic and therapeutic questions. He has published extensively in the area of risk factors for psoriasis and co-morbidities associated with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in large prospective US-based studies.
