Dr. Thomas’s dermatology training was at Leeds General Infirmary in Yorkshire and his medial training at the University of Wales college of medicine in Cardiff. He completed his fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic surgery at the Royal Victoria infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne where he has been working as a consultant since 2012.

Dr. Oliphant remains active within the British Society for Dermatological Surgery of which he is a treasurer and remain enthusiastic and committed to teaching and training in Mohs and dermatologic surgery.
